About Public Health Ambassadors Uganda (PHAU)

Public Health Ambassadors Uganda (PHAU) is a not for profit youth led and serving organization working on issues of sexual and reproductive health and rights and HIV/AIDS prevention awareness through youth empowerment programmes, health education, social entrepreneurship and use of ICT for health. PHAU is fully registered NGO with a permit to operate in Uganda. The registration number is 3438.  

PHAU is currently implementing around 4 donor-funded projects in Uganda in Jinja, Luweero, Nakivale and Kampala.

Job Description

PHAU requires an External Auditor to audit its financial records for FY ending December 2020,2021 and 2022. Deadline for submitting documents and pro forma invoices is 10 calendar days from the date of this announcement to PHAU office in person or through its email address mentioned at the bottom.

The External Auditor will:

1)    Perform a standard financial audit of PHAU’s annual financial activity to determine its financial status and compliance with policies and procedures,

2)    Perform auditing and accounting tests to determine the reliability, integrity and internal control system,

3)    Examine accounting records such as general ledgers, assets/liability records, income/expenditure accounts, commitments to the government, source documents and payroll journals to verify that transactions have been properly recorded and are in compliance with applicable regulations,

4)    Prepare an Audit Report and Management letter with recommendations for corrective action applying professional judgment and interpretation of applicable rules and standards,

5)    Submit the Audit Report to PHAU by the end of January each year,

6)    Present the Audit Report to the Senior Management Meeting of PHAU each year.

7)    Other audit services that may be required in between the fiscal period by donors or partners.

Job Requirements

1)    Renewed license for the current period,

2)    VAT Registration and TIN Certificates

3)    Previous experience in auditing NGOs.
