PHAU AT THE ICT JOB FAIR

The ICT job fair held on the 12th and 13th of august 2022 at Makerere university freedom square was the first of its kind. The communications team, led by Ssesanga Dennis represented PHAU. The PHAU booth was abuzz with inquisitive students and other stakeholders and the team provided all the information they needed.

The ICT job fair.

A big tech- company in collaboration with the Ministry of ICT and Makerere University organized the ICT job fair. The event was held in an effort; to avail students and other participants the opportunity to acquire internship, job, and volunteer placements in the companies exhibited. To create a platform for professional networking among the various ICT innovators. Lastly, but not least, to provide training on professional C.V writing for the participants.

Key speakers.

Prominent business moguls and dignitaries including the vice president of Uganda Jessica Alupo studded the fair. She expressed her gratitude to the organizers of the fair and urged the students to take advantage of the opportunity provided to them. Ssebugwawo Nabbosa Joyce, the Minister of State for ICT, declared the government’s intention to develop sustainable methods of encouraging ICT investors. The Chinese ambassador to Uganda Zhang Lizhong expressed his happiness about the flourishing relationship between the governments of China and Uganda. He encouraged the Chinese companies that were exhibiting to continue providing such opportunities to the Ugandan public.

The take home.

The communications team at the ICT job fair engaged the participants quite actively. The officers helped the public to understand what PHAU is all about. the team proudly exhibited the PHAU App and guided many on how to download it. Many more people now know about the toll-free center and we are expecting it to ring off the hook. Our social media handles on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter are out there and we expect public engagement to increase. As we know, many young people utilize online platforms to interact. The officers advocated for the b-free menstrual cup emphasizing its feminine-friendly and eco-friendly benefits. Over 50 people signed up for PHAU’s newsletter and expressed interest in the Public Health Ambassadors Programme ( PHAP)
